I’ve been making local art drops and wanted to share that with you. Over the past few days, I’ve dropped three pieces of art out in the wild for discovery. Lately, I’ve been thinking a lot about how art should connect us, and I’m bringing that idea into the world with the Art in Hands project.
Local Art Drops – Three New Pieces Out in the World!
Over the past few days, I’ve made three art drops in my local area. Two of the pieces were small 6×6 works on canvas panels, and the third was a larger 12×12 painting on wood cradled panel. Each piece found its way to an easy to see but a little out of the way location, waiting for someone to discover it.
It’s exciting, and a little nerve wracking, releasing art like this—finding a spot and letting it go to imagine who might find it. I wonder: Will it spark curiosity? Bring a bit of joy to their day? Or, will it go unclaimed? So far, I’ve been able to see that they’ve all been picked up but that still leaves me a lot to wonder about how they’re received and where they end up.
These are the latest pieces dropped – you can see the sticker on the bag of the smaller ones that let folks know the art is for them. The larger one also went in a bag with a sticker.

Studio Updates and What’s Next?
I’m in the studio working on a new series to consolidate the things I’ve learned about my work and process from the Vision+Voice course. This series is a limited Zorn palette and will be 6 or 7 small format mixed media works on paper. New art for drops will also be coming out of that process, so stay tuned for updates.
If you’ve found one of these works, I’d love to hear about it! You can reach me via a Substack, Etsy or Pinterest message or an email with the subject line “Found Art.”
Thank you for being part of this journey. Your support and encouragement mean the world to me! If you’d like to follow along with more of my creative process and studio updates, subscribe to my newsletter.
Thanks for being here with me and helping me put real art into the world!
