Late summer, nothing is tidy.

Heavy Bloom collection mood board - ten hand painted gourd patterns in oat, olive and brick red

I drew every one of these freehand, without looking up a single real gourd. So they aren’t quite real and they aren’t quite cartoons — they’re what my hand thinks a gourd is. Then I painted them in Procreate with an oil brush, in oat, olive, brick red and burnt orange.

The line wobbles. The paint goes over the line. There are smears where I dragged a colour somewhere it wasn’t meant to go, and I left every bit of it in, because that’s the part that tells you a real hand made a real thing.

Ten designs, two grounds. Which one would you put on a whole wall?

The Ten

Every design repeats at ten inches. Click any one to see it bigger.

On the wall, on the cloth

Flat squares don’t tell you how big a thing is. These do.

Where to find it

Heavy Bloom isn’t for sale yet. It’s drawn, it’s finished, and it’s waiting on a shop door to open. The studio newsletter is where I’ll say so first — and if you’re a buyer, a maker or anyone who wants this collection on something, write to me directly here: https://shinydesigns.com/get-in-touch/
