Surface Pattern Collections

Every collection here is made by hand, and they come in two lines. Painted starts on the studio table in real paint, then gets scanned and built into repeat. Drawn starts on a screen: drawn freehand and painted digitally, closer to illustration and quicker to color. Same hand, same strange forms. Two ways in.

A collection is a set of designs made to live together — one big one that does the talking, and the quieter ones that hold it down. They go out into the world as fabric, as wallpaper, as paper. Made by hand, released without permission.

Painted

Real paint first. Palette knife, crayon, scraped grounds — every mark came off a physical surface and kept its ridges, rings and scratches on the way into repeat.
