When I originally planned to launch my Dark of the Moon series last September, I couldn’t have anticipated how deeply the theme of cycles and renewal would resonate. On September 27, 2024, the day intended for the project’s release, Hurricane Helene brought heartache and devastation to Western North Carolina, upending so many plans and lives.
Now, I’m ready to share this series with you. The launch is scheduled for a particularly meaningful time – from dark moon to dark moon, February 28 to March 29, 2025. This period, which serendipitously includes a total lunar eclipse, feels like the perfect moment to release these works that celebrate the cycles of nature and creativity.
The series includes original mixed media paintings featuring raggedy moons and stars emerging from richly textured skies. Through my Kickstarter campaign, I’m offering these pieces along with handcrafted zines and other rewards at accessible price points, continuing my commitment to placing art directly into people’s hands.
