Dark of the Moon: Mixed Media Art Kickstarter – The Journey from Pause to Launch
After months of waiting, reflecting, and recovery, my “Dark of the Moon” mixed media series is now live on Kickstarter. This collection has taken on new meaning since its originally planned launch was the very day of Hurricane Helene last September.
A Project Transformed by Time
What began as a celestial-inspired art series has evolved into something more meaningful. The textured surfaces, moody landscapes, and imperfect moons now carry echoes of that dark time. There’s something fitting about launching during this particular lunar cycle – from dark moon to dark moon, with a total lunar eclipse in between.
I’m drawn to the beauty of imperfection and try to deeply honor natural cycles in my work. Now, these themes resonate on a deeper level as my Western North Carolina home comes into the lengthening days and promise of a mountain spring.
