I’m starting this year slow and seeing where that goes. I don’t usually make resolutions or anything like that and this year is even quieter. How’s your year starting?
Building and Snow Days
I told you about my studio we (my husband and I) are building and we’re still working on that. It’s a big job for just the two of us. We were working pretty hard to get it mostly ready for weather and just did finish the outer shell. I even got a coat of primer/paint on it – before the winter storm came with 12 inches of snow! Now, we’ll take a little break before getting back to it…
What I’m Reading
I’ve got two books that I’m actively reading. There are lots more that are in various stages of not-quite-active reading – is that just me?
First, is “The Crossroads of Should and Must: Find and Follow Your Passion” by Elle Luna. I really enjoy the lightness of her approach to art and life and the cover and interior design is lovely.
Second is “Wanting: The Power of Mimetic Desire in Everyday Life” by Luke Burgis. This one is very much about the ideas I’ve been exploring about modern life and how we might fit our art into it. Fascinating, but not exactly a light read.
