Hey there!
I hope all is well with you – I’ve been painting and wanted to send an update about the storytelling component of my work. I like to base each series on a particular vision that inspires a deeper exploration of a specific theme. I think this allows me to create work that is more meaningful and authentic and helps me focus the creative path through the work.
New Series – Strange Stuff
Currently, I’m working on a series of mixed media paintings that explore strange and unusual creatures in another world. While I’m still working through the meaning of the whole, it’s giving me ideas around otherness and non-conformity. I’m aiming to create a sense of other-worldliness in these pieces using a combination of paint, marks, and collage.
I’m sharing one of the recent finished works here. It’s so fresh it’s not even titled yet! I’ve been enjoying the process of seeing these creatures come to life on the canvas and I’m often surprised at what appears.
Exciting News!
In other news, I’m thrilled to share that I’ll be having a solo show in July 2023 in the Stillwater resort area of Minnesota. The show will feature a collection of works from the current series exploring strange and unusual creatures in another world. I’m looking forward to sharing these pieces with you. I’ll be sharing more details as we get closer!
