I’m so happy to see you here – lots of good stuff going on today: some creative play, ugly painting and a little journal goes to a new home.
Creative Boundaries, Exploration and Play
I’ve been starting to feel that my mixed media canvases are getting a little stale. Same set up, same process, same finish… Of course, that process was hard won to figure out and get it to a place where I liked what I was producing. Then, after a while, the formula sets in and it’s not as satisfying.
That’s when it’s time to do something different. Sometimes I make something completely different or work in a different medium. This time, I thought it was time to take a walk on the abstract side. Abstract paintings are probably my least favorite but it’s a boundary I’ve never really pushed. I’ll keep exploring this for a while and then, when I go back to the canvas, the sense of play and freedom will come with me.
