Have you been making things? It’s been busier than I expected – both in the studio and design work for Creatopia, making zines and other digital projects. I really like to have a mix of things to work on – it keeps me from getting too restless…

Following the Thread

I’ve finished the exhibition page on the website and have a full-color 25-page digital folio documenting the project. That eBook is completely free for you to download and explore. I found the process of creating the book was very important to me as part of the residency. It gave me some distance and perspective on the project that allowed me to see better what I achieved. I feel like this kind of thoughtful looking and documentation is far more important to my creative process than I realized. It’s the final creative act in the cycle of the work. Check it out – I’m proud of it!

There’s more to come on this project – I’ve got prints in the works as well as print copy of the book, a zine and a few other things. Watch for an update!

Goals!

Lately, I’ve gained some clarity on my art, process and goals for creating. One of them is to have a fun and fulfilling process to share the creative process and the art itself into the world. Art is Hands is just one step in that direction and I’m letting the rest come to me as it does. Another is Kickstarter – I enjoy the cycle of a Kickstarter campaign and will be launching a couple more of those this year. I know that’s not for everyone, so I’ll make sure to share them on my site and shop too!

Shop News

Speaking of the shop – there are TWO new listing for handmade art bookmarks waiting for you. One of them is (almost) free!

I enjoy making these bookmarks – both fancy versions and simpler – and am working on sending them into the world. See the red fancy one with pumpkins here and the simpler – practically free – one here. Here’s a little subscriber secret: if you order one of the fancy ones, I’ll send you one of the others as a bonus!
